Published on November 25, 2019, Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism has faced intense scrutiny from the media and social media users.
Despite the criticism, Ng'ang'a remains unapologetic, attributing his success to ignoring his detractors.
'There was a time I was the only thing people were talking about,' he recalled. 'All Kikuyu, Luo, and Kamba stations were talking about me. News anchors would add salt to my stories, never accept defeat.'
Ng'ang'a claims that the media and social media users often criticize him without knowing the facts, leading him to live a better life compared to his detractors.
'I was sold this parcel of land by the central bank after a bank failed to pay its debts,' he said of the church's location.
Ng'ang'a also highlighted his financial growth, stating that he used to spend Sh75 to get a shave in Luthuli Avenue but now pays Sh4,500 for a hair coloring treatment.
'Instead of talking ill about me, how about reaching out so that I can help you reach where I am?' he posed to his critics.
