As of November 24, 2019, the Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in several regions of the country.

Residents in Western, North Western, North Eastern, South Eastern, and Central regions, including Nairobi, are advised to be on the lookout for floods and landslides.

Heavy rainfall of more than 30 millimeters is expected in these areas, with the possibility of high flows in most rivers and grounds saturated with water.

The department has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant, as the heavy rainfall is likely to lead to flooding in some areas and trigger landslides in low-lying areas and over hilly grounds.

The rainfall is expected to continue for the entire October-November-December season with occasional breaks.
