Betika, a sports betting firm, has launched a series of countrywide tournaments to support grassroots football talent in Kenya.

The tournaments, which kicked off on November 23, 2019, will see teams compete for cash prizes and other awards.

According to the firm, the overall winners in the men's category will take home KSh 200,000, while women's teams will pocket KSh 100,000.

First runners-up in the men's category will receive KSh 75,000, while women's teams will get KSh 50,000.

Second runners-up will also receive a cash prize of KSh 40,000.

Additionally, the most disciplined player and best goalkeeper will each receive KSh 15,000, while the best fan cheering will be awarded KSh 10,000.

The tournaments are part of Betika's wider initiative to support upcoming sporting talent from across the country.

As part of the initiative, the firm has invested millions in sponsorships and support of local teams, providing football jerseys, kits, balls, and other facilities for local teams.

Both established and upcoming artists were given the chance to showcase their talents at the tournament in Meru.
