On a typical Saturday afternoon, a peculiar scene unfolded in a local supermarket. A tall, broad man, dressed in a faded navy blue suit, pushed a trolley while being accompanied by a shorter, well-dressed man in a light gray suit. The contrast between their attire and demeanor was striking.
The shorter man, seemingly the boss, took his time inspecting the shelves while his companion stood patiently by the trolley. When the boss pointed out a brand of detergent, the tall man quickly placed it in the trolley. However, the boss then instructed the tall man to wait, leaving him standing alone with the trolley.
This incident reminded the author of a relative who often shares stories about being treated poorly by his wealthy bosses. Despite driving them to meetings and events, he was never offered lunch or even a bottle of water. The relative believes that these 'important' people could easily afford to have food packed for their drivers, but instead, they leave them to fend for themselves.
These two incidents highlight the dehumanizing treatment of domestic help by their employers. It's a stark reminder of the contrast between the lives of the wealthy and their underappreciated staff.
