On a day when Arsenal's hopes of going fifth in the Premier League standings hung in the balance, Alexandre Lacazette's late minute goal saved the Gunners from an embarrassing home defeat against Southampton, securing a 2-2 draw at the Emirates stadium on November 23, 2019.

Unai Emery's men had been on the verge of an embarrassing defeat, but Lacazette's goal breathed a collective sigh of relief among the Emirates stadium crowd.

The Gunners had been unable to beat their visitors, despite having the chance to go fifth in the standings. Southampton took the lead in the 8th minute through Danny Ings, but Arsenal restored parity in the 18th minute through Lacazette's superb goal.

However, the Gunners were unable to get the winner in the second half, and instead conceded a goal in the 71st minute through James Ward Prowse. Lacazette eventually netted the late minute goal that gave Arsenal a point.

Southampton were far from clinical in front of goal, with Mali international Moussa Djenepo having a couple of clear-cut chances but failing to convert.
