November 22, 2019, a disturbing video went viral showing a supervisor at Eastmatt Supermarket in Kajiado physically abusing a female cashier.

The video, which has sparked widespread outrage, shows the supervisor slapping the cashier across the face multiple times before grabbing her by the hair and continuing to assault her.

Two other male staff members eventually intervened, holding the supervisor back as he attempted to continue the assault.

David Aunga, a Twitter user, reacted to the video by tweeting, "This is how a cashier in Kajiado has been humiliated by his supervisor in Kajiado Eastmatt supermarket. We demand this man to be arrested."

Eastmatt has since responded to the incident, stating that the supervisor has been suspended and the assaulted cashier is receiving medical attention.

In a statement, Eastmatt condemned the supervisor's actions, saying, "We as Eastmatt condemn and do not stand for such acts of disrespect against any of our staff and more so women."

The company also assured the public that they are committed to creating a safe and conducive environment for all staff members.
