Former Safari Rally winner Carl Tundo has narrowed the gap in the 2019 KCB Kenya National Rally Championship title race after clinching victory in the Eldoret Rally on Saturday.

Driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 car, Tundo's win has kept him in the running for the title, with only the final round, the Guru Nanak Rally, remaining.

However, the competition was affected by rain, with only seven out of 17 starters finishing the rally. Organisers were forced to move the Service Park to a different venue and cancel the SS6 stage due to poor weather.

Several drivers, including Tejveer Rai, Eric Bengi, Ammar Haq, Nikil Sachania, McRae Kimathi, and Evans Kavisi, retired in a single stage (SS3).

Tundo is now 20 points behind Baldev Chager in the KNRC series, who finished second in the Eldoret Rally driving a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 car.

With a maximum of 25 points to score from the Guru Nanak Rally, Chager only needs to finish in the top three to win the crown for the fourth time in his rallying career.
