Counterfeit Cigarettes Worth Ksh.18 Million Seized in Nairobi

On Saturday, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested four suspects in Nairobi for distributing counterfeit cigarettes worth Ksh.18 million.

According to the DCI, the suspects were found with 182 cartons of cigarettes, each containing 50 packets, at Kenyatta Market in Kilimani.

The counterfeit goods and the lorry that was ferrying them are being held by the police.

The four suspects, Paul Njoroge, Kefa Onyino, Joseph Kariuki, and John Wainaina, will be arraigned on Monday, November 25, 2019.

A manhunt has been launched for a fifth suspect of Chinese origin.
