On November 22, 2019, a botched robbery in Ruaka, Kiambu county, left two people dead and others injured.
A police officer and a taxi driver, Hussein Galgalo, were shot dead after a shootout with the armed gang.
According to the police report, the thugs had gained entry into the compound and were ordered to surrender, but they refused and shot at the officers.
During the shootout, officers managed to gun down two robbers, one of them being an officer, while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
One Jericho pistol loaded with 10 bullets and a vehicle used by the gang were also recovered from the scene.
The bodies were moved to Kihara Level Four Hospital for further examination.
