On November 22, 2019, a police officer and three suspected armed robbers were shot dead in a deadly shootout with police in Ruaka, Kiambu County.
The officer, identified as Daniel Etiang with service number 236975, and the suspected robbers, including a taxi driver named Galgalo Hussein, were ambushed by police as they planned to commit a robbery at Ruaka Court Yard.
According to authorities, the four were targeting a house where two Nigerians live when the officers intercepted them, leading to a shootout.
Police recovered a Jericho pistol with serial number 43368733 and 10 rounds of ammunition from the felled suspects.
A car with registration number KCU 926L, suspected to have been used by the robbers, was towed to Kiambaa police station.
Police launched a manhunt for two other robbers who managed to escape with gunshots wounds.
