On Saturday, a Joy Kenya bus narrowly escaped a disaster after it was involved in a freak accident on the Nairobi-Thika route.
According to media reports, the bus was full of passengers at the time of the accident, which occurred on a day when many people were traveling.
Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident, with reports indicating that the speeding bus lost control and landed in a ditch near THIWASCO.
A witness who arrived at the scene shortly after the accident confirmed that no major injuries were reported.
However, the incident has raised concerns about the safety of passengers plying the route, with many complaining about reckless driving and rude crew members.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time a Joy Kenya bus has been involved in an accident. In August 2019, a bus belonging to the company overturned at Bonjour roundabout on Kenyatta highway in Thika, leaving 15 people injured.
Similarly, in April 2019, two people died on the spot while 21 others sustained serious injuries after a Joy Kenya bus was involved in an accident at Maara River bridge.
Furthermore, in January 2018, a Joy Kenya bus overturned along Thika road at the Ruiru service lane, sparking concerns about the safety of the company's buses.
