On Saturday, November 23, 2019, the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) men's volleyball team made history by securing an early ticket to the Africa Club Championship with a match to spare. They defeated Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 27-25, 25-20) in the Kenya Volleyball Federation national League play-offs at the Moi International Sport Centre Indoor Arena in Kasarani.

With this win, KPA has sealed their spot in the Africa Club Championship, leaving them with a match to spare. They will play their last match against defending champions General Service Unit (GSU) on Sunday, while KDF will be seeking to record their first win against Prisons.

Commenting on the win, fast-rising Enock Mogeni, a fourth-year student at Strathmore University studying Business Information Technology, expressed his gratitude to KPA for their support. He stated that he remains committed to the team and is focused on bettering himself for future matches.

Team captain Sammy Ng'eno emphasized that they have nothing to lose ahead of the tie against GSU, as they have already qualified for the club championship. He praised the management for their overwhelming support, which has led to the team's success.
