Eastmatt Supermarket Suspends Cashier Caught on Camera Assaulting Female Colleague

On November 22, 2019, a disturbing incident was captured on CCTV cameras at one of Eastmatt's stores in Kajiado, Kenya.

A female employee was seen being physically assaulted by her male colleague in a heated argument over money.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim was counting money when the attacker approached her, grabbed her, and slapped her seven times.

Despite her attempts to defend herself, the victim was eventually overpowered by her colleague and other employees who intervened to save her.

Eastmatt Supermarket has since condemned the incident and suspended the employee involved, stating that the matter has been reported to the Kajiado police station.

"We at Eastmatt strongly condemn this act of violence and disrespect towards our female employees. The employee involved has been suspended and the matter has been reported to the Kajiado police station," Eastmatt said in a statement.
