November 23, 2019, marked a special day for the Kamukunji WhatsApp group as they celebrated five years of development engagement.
According to member Ahmed Mohammed, the group consists of nurses, business people, police officers, the youth, and many intellectuals from the Kamukunji community.
As part of their celebration, the group members collectively donated over Sh250,000 to organize a grand bash.
Mr. Mohammed took to Twitter to express his joy and appreciation for the group's initiative, saying, 'Enjoying myself at a unique event. A Kamukunji WhatsApp group that I’m a member of celebrating 5 years of positive development engagement. Members donating over 250K to throw a bash. Where there’s a will there’s a way.'
His tweet sparked a mix of reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, with some praising the group's initiative and others questioning the use of funds.
