On August 18, 2019, Alvin Otieno of Menengai cream Homeboyz battled out with a Menengai Oilers player during the Prinsloo sevens at Nakuru Athletics Club.
With only two points separating them, KCB and Homeboyz will clash in a crucial Kenya Cup round five match on August 18, 2019. The match will take place at the KCB Sports Club, starting at 4 pm.
Homeboyz, who are unbeaten just like KCB, head to the match as underdogs. They will be looking to defy the odds, having won only two of their last seven Kenya Cup meetings with Curtis Olago's men.
Homeboyz will have to survive KCB's powerful forward play and set-piece prowess if they are to end their three-match winless streak in this fixture. The Deejays, who are coached by South African Hector Jason, have not beaten KCB since February 2017.
Full back Isaac Njoroge, Darwin Mukidza, and Geoffrey Okwach, who earned his maiden Kenya Sevens call up this week, are expected to shoulder the try-scoring burden for KCB. Homeboyz will look up to the likes of Augustine Lugonzo, Leonard Mugaisi, and Mohammed Omollo for inspiration.
The teams last faced off at the Impala Floodlit semi-finals last month, where KCB emerged 38-14 winners on their way to a third successive Floodlit title.
