Heavy rains have triggered a devastating landslide in Pokot South, West Pokot county, claiming at least 12 lives and leaving scores trapped.

According to Sondany Location chief Joel Bulal, 12 people were buried alive in the Nyarkulian area, while four others in the Parua area lost their lives due to the landslide.
