West Pokot Landslide Leaves 16 Feared Dead

Heavy rains have triggered a devastating landslide in West Pokot county, leaving at least 16 people feared dead.

According to Sondany Location chief Joel Bulal, 12 people were buried alive in the Nyarkulian area, while four others in Parua area were also trapped due to the landslide.

Rescue operations are ongoing to retrieve people and animals from the affected areas.

Local administrators warn that more people and animals could be trapped inside their homes, buried by the landslide.
