On November 22, 2019, a heinous crime shook the quiet streets of Kibabii, Bungoma Town, when a 21-year-old Kibabii University student was brutally attacked.
According to eyewitness Zaituni Shaban, the student was with her friends when they were ambushed by the assailant.
Speaking to a local media station, Zaituni recounted the horrific events of that fateful night, saying:
“At 5am, we heard a woman screaming for help, but my husband and I feared responding to the distress call. Later, 6am, I went out of the house, and when I looked on a neighbour’s roof, I saw something that resembles a human being’s arm wrapped in a bra, and thrown there.’
When the police arrived, they removed the arm from the roof and confirmed that it belonged to a human being.
The student, who wishes to remain anonymous, is currently receiving treatment at Bungoma West Hospital.
She recounted the traumatic experience, saying the man raped and then severed her left arm from her body.
