Diego Maradona Returns to Gimnasia After Brief Departure

On November 22, 2019, Argentine football legend Diego Maradona announced that he would return to Gimnasia, a club in his home country, just two days after quitting the side.

Maradona's decision to return to Gimnasia comes after he left the club on November 20, 2019, following eight matches where he won three games and lost five encounters.

His contract with Gimnasia was due to run until the end of the League season on December 8, 2019, but he walked away from his post with three fixtures remaining.

Maradona expressed his gratitude to the fans and players, stating, "I want to thank the fans and the players, because among all of us we finally got the political unity of the club," on his social media page.

He also expressed his hope that the club would comply with the reinforcements they promised him, saying, "I hope they comply with the reinforcements they promised me,''

Gimnasia are currently at the bottom of the League standings and will host Arsenal de Sarandi on November 24, 2019, in their next game.
