On November 19th, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred at Eastmart Supermarket in Kajiado town, captured on CCTV footage that has since gone viral.

The video shows a male customer engaging in a heated argument with the cashier before he repeatedly slaps her and pulls her from the counter, continuing to rain blows until other supermarket workers intervene.

As the video spread on social media, Kenyans expressed their outrage, calling for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to arrest and prosecute the suspect.

Many online users condemned the man's actions, with some questioning why another man present at the scene chose not to intervene.

Alleos Kaballeros commented, 'This is assault and I saw another man walk away instead of intervening. Even if the lady was wrong, I believe there are proper systems within the company laws to deal with her.'

Eric Noble advised, 'Be wise and smart, read the person's body language first. Customers are not your friends.'

Others, like Javan Mwangi Mburu, noted that the suspect could face serious consequences if the victim pursues legal action.

Ken Arumi expressed sympathy for the cashier, saying, 'Sad indeed, that's a cashier that he doesn't even know what of her wife or girlfriend in case he has.'

Alfuu Alfie wrote, 'The guy behind the cashier who walks away should be arrested as well...azin how can he walk away leaving the lady to be beaten.'

Some users questioned whether the supermarket was operating without security details, while others condemned the man's actions as unacceptable.
