Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing a reunion with former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to reports.

The 38-year-old Swedish superstar recently parted ways with LA Galaxy after a two-year stint in the MLS and is now considering his next move, which could be his last before retiring.

Despite recent claims that Ibrahimovic was on the verge of returning to Serie A with AC Milan, The Telegraph has suggested that Mourinho has identified the free agent as a potential new signing for Spurs.

The pair have a long-standing relationship, with Mourinho signing Ibrahimovic for Manchester United in 2016. The striker eventually left the club in March 2018, but the two are believed to have remained close friends.

With Tottenham struggling to find adequate cover for Harry Kane, Ibrahimovic's arrival could provide a much-needed boost to the team's attacking lineup.

However, a potential stumbling block could be Ibrahimovic's wage demands, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy known for being a tough negotiator.

In his first press conference as Tottenham manager, Mourinho insisted that he was happy with his current squad, saying, "I don't need players. I don't need players. I am so happy with what I have. I just need time to understand them better and know everything about them because I always say you only know a player when you work with them."
