Agnes Tirop, the world 10,000m bronze medallist, is gearing up to defend her title in the Tuskys 10km Wareng Great Run in Eldoret on Sunday, November 24, 2019. The athlete, who trains in Iten, Elgeyo Marakwet County, is optimistic of a good result and sees the race as an opportunity to shape up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Speaking to Nation Sport, Tirop expressed her desire to improve her performance from the bronze medal she won in the past two World Championships. She cited her finishing kick as an area that needs improvement, saying, "I don’t belong to the bronze category. I want to improve my training techniques as I look forward to represent the country in the Olympic Games next year."

Other notable names expected to participate in the race include Lucy Cheruiyot, Beatrice Mutai, Beatrice Chebet, and Sandrafelis Chebet. The race starts at 8am and will be televised live by NTV.
