On November 22, 2019, the National Police Service of Kenya marked a significant shift in its operations by introducing a digital Occurrence Book.
The e-Occurrence Book was launched at the Kasarani Police Station in Nairobi by Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai, who emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in police operations.
"We now have an electronic Occurrence Book which will be able to keep permanent records of all entries," the IG said at the launch attended by other senior police officers.
The digital records will be subject to monitoring by various commanders, including Ward, County, and Regional Commanders, as well as top commanders.
