On November 22, 2019, a devastating incident occurred at Ndori trading center in Rarieda, where a 13-year-old boy, Master Elly Ayiecho, lost his life after being run over by a trailer on the Kisumu – Bondo Road.
Elly, a Class 7 pupil at God-Bondo primary school in Homa Bay, was riding a bicycle when he fell on the road.
According to Mr. Maurice Omondi, the North Ramba Assistant Chief, the boy was attempting to cross the road in front of the trailer but fell off.
The administrator urged road users to observe traffic rules to avert such deaths and stated that the boy's body has been moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary for postmortem.
