Comedian Eric Omondi is facing a backlash from the Kenya Scouts Association for allegedly misusing the Kenya Scouts uniform in a comical image he shared on his Instagram page.

According to a statement published in the Daily Nation on November 22, 2019, the Association is demanding that Eric Omondi apologise and delete the image, which features him posing with fellow comedian Eunice Mammito and another man clad in full Kenya Scouts attire, alongside a gun.

The Association claims that the image portrays scouts as an armed militia, which is a misuse of the uniform and a breach of the Kenya Scouts Act CAP 219.

"While the Association encourages and promotes arts and creativity, the use of scared Scouts gear such as badges and uniform is highly protected and must not be used inappropriately," the statement read in part.

The Association has given Eric Omondi until the end of the day to comply with their demands, and has warned that failure to do so may result in further action.
