Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has fired back at a Standard newspaper headline that dubbed him the most dangerous man in Kenya.

On Friday, Governor Sonko took to his official social media accounts to issue a response to the headline, which read: "Is Sonko the most dangerous man in Kenya?"

However, instead of denying the allegations, Sonko proudly accepted the title, stating: "Yes, I am the most dangerous man to the cartels, the corrupt, the land grabbers and the lazy."

According to Sonko, the publication may have been paid to publish the article, which went into detail on the views of City Hall insiders.

He also alleged that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has been intimidating him, but this has only made him stronger.

"What some of the unprofessional gutter press and media houses being used don't know is that the more they direct this war at me, the more they make me even more stronger," Sonko stated.

He went on to cite the recently released EACC Corruption Survey, which listed Nairobi as one of the least corrupt counties in Kenya.

"Today I am shocked that according to their own survey on corruption analysis of 2018 released 2 days ago by the EACC commissioners at the illegally acquired Integrity Centre, Nairobi is not even in the list of top 20 most corrupt counties," Sonko posted.
