Published on November 22, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to exercise patience and wait for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Report to be made public before giving their opinions.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony at Kibabii University in Bungoma County, the President emphasized the importance of reading and understanding the report's content before making any judgments.
“There are these people who say they don’t want the BBI and they have not seen what is inside. We take people to school so that they be educated to read. So please, let us take time, to go through it together and come out with good things…That can make the country even better, more united, that can make our institutions more inclusive,” Uhuru said at Kibabii.
The President's remarks come just days after the chairman of the BBI for National Unity Advisory Taskforce, Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji, announced that the team had secured a meeting with the President and Raila Odinga next week.
On November 22, 2019, Mr Haji told journalists at a press conference in Nairobi that an appointment to hand the report to the President had been arranged for Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
