NCBA Unveils New Board Following Merger Completion

November 22, 2019 - The successful completion of the NCBA merger has paved the way for a new board to take the reins. The bank group has announced the appointment of James Ndegwa, former NIC Chairman, as the Group Chairman. Isaac Awuondo will lead NCBA Bank Kenya as the chairman.

James Ndegwa will be deputized by Desterio Oyatsi, former CBA chairman, while John Gachora will hold the Group's Managing Director office. The new board members include:

  • John S. Armitage - Non-executive Director
  • George A Maina - Non-executive Director
  • Hon. Abdirahin Abdi - Non-executive Director
  • Andrew Ndegwa - Non-executive Director
  • Esther Ngaine - Non-executive Director
  • Mukeshchandra K. R Shah - Non-executive Director
  • Philip Lopokoiyot - Non-executive Director
  • Isaac Awuondo - Non-executive Director
  • David Abwoga - Executive Director
  • Jeremy Ngunze - Executive Director

Additionally, the following members have been appointed to the NCBA Bank Kenya PLC board:

  • John S. Armitage - Non-executive Director
  • Andrew S.M Ndegwa - Non-executive Director
  • Hon. Abdirahin H Abdi - Non-executive Director
  • Esther Ngaine - Non-executive Director
