Kenya Police boxers have set the tone for the National Boxing League, dominating their opponents in the first leg of the competition held at Ofafa Memorial Hall in Kisumu on November 21, 2019.

Martin Oduor, a Kenya Police boxer, strolled into the semifinals after dismissing Joshua Mwangi of Githurai 44 in a bantamweight clash. Oduor won the bout on a unanimous points' decision, showcasing his skills in the three-round match.

Kenya Police Head Coach Peter Bulinga praised Oduor's performance, saying, 'He has been doing fine this year, and I'm not surprised with his dominant win today. I'm confident he'll win in the next two matches.'

Other boxers who made it to the semifinals include Mohammed Ali of Mombasa, who won against Victor Juma of Trans Nzoia County on a split points decision, and Syras Wandera of Busia, who overwhelmed Kraish Hudhaifa of Kilifi in an unanimous points' decision.

Hosts Bernard Oduor of Kisumu also cruised into the semifinals, dismissing Mwangi of Thika on a unanimous points' decision. Oduor attributed his success to adequate training and his team's support, saying, 'We have worked as a team with my coach, and I'm glad we were able to win today. I want to thank my home supporters for coming out in large numbers.'
