Student Beaten at CDF Office for Opposing MP ¶
On November 20, 2019, a college student visited the Bomachoge Borabu Constituency Development Fund (CDF) office in Kisii County to apply for bursary funds.
However, the student was met with violence when he was attacked by two supporters of the area Member of Parliament (MP) who accused him of criticising and opposing the MP during the political campaign season.
The two men, who were seen in a viral video, manhandled the student, slapping and punching him several times throughout the 30-second clip.
One of them even picked up a piece of wood and hit the student with it, despite efforts from a few individuals on the scene to calm them down and plead with them to let the student go.
The incident has sparked angry reactions from Kenyans on social media, with many calling for justice to be served.
DCI, in a tweet, urged the victim to report to their offices to aid in bringing all those involved to justice.
