President Uhuru Kenyatta's Sagana meeting with Mount Kenya leaders has sparked a counter-reaction from Deputy President William Ruto's allies in the region.
According to sources, a section of Mount Kenya legislators allied to Ruto is organizing a meeting to discuss new strategies for the region's politics.
The move comes after Ruto's allies dismissed last Friday's Sagana forum, which they claimed flopped.
Legislator Kathuri Murungi, from South Imenti, has proposed the meeting, which was seconded by Moses Kuria, the outspoken Gatundu South lawmaker.
The meeting aims to analyze the Sagana meeting and review the problems facing Mt Kenya ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta's planned tour of the region.
