On November 21, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto put aside their differences and attended a Cabinet meeting at State House in Nairobi. The meeting, convened by the President, marked a significant step towards reconciliation between the two leaders, who had been at odds for months following the split of Jubilee into two rival camps, Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke.

The Cabinet meeting was also notable for being the first one after President Uhuru met with all Mt Kenya leaders in Sagana to address the region's needs. During the meeting, the Cabinet approved several key policies aimed at boosting the country's economy, including the Kenya Youth Development Policy (KYDP) 2019.

According to a statement from State House, the new youth policy seeks to 'coordinate youth programmes so as to address unemployment, radicalization, youth exclusion, cyber crime and trafficking in persons among other challenges facing the youth.' The Cabinet also approved the Business Laws (Amendment) Bill 2019, aimed at improving the business environment and attracting more investments, as well as the piloting of the Engineered Base Stabilizer (EBS) roads in Nairobi County.
