On November 20, 2019, a 69-year-old Mombasa-based lawyer, Sammy Anyazwa, tragically took his own life by jumping from the 10th floor of a government building.

According to reports, Anyazwa, a partner at Anyazwa and Company Advocates, had gone to the land's office on the 8th floor to conduct some transactions.

However, after perusing through a file at the Ministry of Lands, he became displeased, but the exact reason remains unclear.

"It is still unclear what the file contained but we are investigating," an officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation told the Daily Nation.

Despite claims that the deceased did not manifest any signs of depression, his death remains a mystery as he did not leave behind a suicide note.

His body is currently lying at the Pandya Hospital morgue.
