Wazito FC chairman Ricardo Bardoer has fired coach Melis Medo, barely a month after he took over at the struggling Kenyan Premier League side.

Medo was shown the door on November 20, 2019, after a shock 2-0 defeat to the newly promoted Kisumu All Stars away in Kisumu.

That was his second successive loss in three games since he replaced Fred Ambani, who was also dismissed on grounds of poor results.

Medo confirmed that his contract was terminated in an exclusive phone interaction with TUKO.co.ke, crediting his side's bad form to poor team fighting spirit.

"Fighting (spirit from players) is the keyword and I’m not sure what’s going on behind the scene. I’m not upset by the way, I salute teams with fighting spirits over anything else. I can’t score goals myself if the players can’t," he said.

Former coach Frank Ouna, who left the club after guiding them back to the top KPL, is set to return to take over on a caretaker basis as Wazito management shop around for a permanent replacement, whom we understand will be a foreigner.
