Wazito, a Kenyan Premier League side, has parted ways with head coach Medo Melis, barely a month after his appointment to replace Stanley Okumbi. The decision comes on the heels of a dismal performance this season, with the team currently ranked 13th and having secured only two wins from 10 matches.

Medo, an American-born Egyptian, had been in charge for just four matches, but his tenure was marked by controversy. Following a 2-1 loss to Sofapaka on November 10, he publicly criticized his players, stating that he would overhaul the squad during the January transfer window and sign players who deserved to be at Wazito.

His comments created disharmony between him and the playing unit, ultimately leading to his dismissal after a 2-0 loss to Kisumu AllStars on Wednesday in Kisumu. In a statement to Nation Sport, Medo confirmed the development, expressing no hard feelings.

"It is true, we have parted ways and I am happy and contented with the decision. I think at the moment that is the best thing for both parties," he said.

Wazito's next assignment is against Kariobangi Sharks on Monday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
