On November 21, 2019, the National Assembly's disciplinary committee found Wajir Women Representative Fatma Gedi guilty of acting in dishonor contrary to the Leadership and Integrity Act.
The committee's decision was made public after a sex tape allegedly featuring Gedi was leaked, which she claimed was fake and meant to tarnish her image.
However, the situation took a turn for the worse when Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa accused Gedi of having relationships with young boys, including her bodyguards and drivers, and questioned why she was estranged from her husband with whom she has three children.
Barasa further escalated the matter by leaking a letter from the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss, Kinoti, to the Clerk of the National Assembly requesting the apprehension of four legislators allegedly behind the sex tape.
The legislators in question are Aden Keynan, Rehema Jaldesa, Abdihakim Mohamed, and Wangui Ngirici, who have yet to record statements with the DCI.
