On November 21, 2019, The Star journalist Eric Oloo was found dead in a house in Ugunja, Siaya County, under unclear circumstances.
Contradictory reports emerged regarding the ownership of the house, with some claiming it belonged to a female chief inspector of police, while others stated that it was Eric Oloo's residence.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that Eric Oloo had suffered stab wounds, prompting police to launch an investigation into the mysterious death.
Police also began searching for the female police officer who was reportedly missing.
Separately, K24 journalist Daniel Chemjor died in a car accident along the Iten-Kabarnet road on Wednesday evening, November 20, 2019.
Chemjor's car veered off the road and plunged into Chebloch gorge, and his body had yet to be retrieved at the time of the report.
