On July 30, 2016, China Wu Yi allegedly entered into a sale agreement with Stephen Kithi, who was acting on behalf of the land's registered owner.
According to the company, after executing the agreement, it paid Kithi's lawyer Sh121 million, which was deposited into a joint bank account.
