On November 21, 2019, a shocking revelation emerged in the murder case of Monicah Kimani, a young woman found dead in her apartment.

Joseph Irungu alias Jowie, the main suspect in the case, had been serving time in remand. However, new evidence has come to light, suggesting he was not alone in the apartment when Monicah died.

A total of 73 DNA samples were taken from the crime scene, and analysis revealed that Jowie's DNA was present. Furthermore, DNA generated from Monicah's pillow and a rear seat matched the DNA samples of Jowie and an unidentified woman.

According to a government analyst's report, two DNA profiles were generated from the samples, one of which belonged to an unidentified man, while the other was of a woman.

Monicah's brother, George Thiru, had reported that she was scheduled to meet Jowie and another suspect, Jennings Odhiambo, on the morning of her death. However, their calls went unanswered, raising suspicions.

Monicah's mother had requested George to check on her whereabouts after noticing she was not picking calls. Upon breaking into the apartment, the gruesome discovery was made, and investigations began.

Jacque Maribe, another suspect in the case, spent a few days in remand but was later released on bail.
