As the year comes to a close, Athletics Kenya (AK) is reflecting on the gains and losses of 2019. The organization has decided to hold a conference in Eldoret from December 3-7 to review the year's events and debate the way forward.

The conference, themed 'I choose Integrity,' will be attended by over 300 athletes, including marathon and road runners, youths, juniors, and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games probables. The event is mandatory for invited athletes, with consequences for those who fail to attend.

The conference will focus on doping, with the IAAF's Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) in attendance to address the issue. Marathon and road runners will have a one-day session on doping on December 4, while track and field stars will discuss various topics for three days.

Other areas of interest at the conference will include ethics, investment, taxation, and athlete-media relations. AK will use this seminar as a first step towards 2020 Olympics Games preparations, as required by World Athletics.

According to AK, the goal is to groom athletes who are complete in real life, with a focus on maintaining their brand and managing resources professionally.
