Monica Kimani's murder case has taken a significant turn with DNA evidence confirming that the main suspect, Joseph Kuria Irungu, also known as 'Jowie', interacted with the deceased during her last moments.

According to a report by the Government analyst, Dr. Joseph Kagunda, presented in court on Wednesday, DNA samples taken from the scene of crime linked Jowie to the scene of the crime, Monica Kimani's apartment.

Dr. Kagunda's report, submitted to the court on Wednesday, analyzed 73 samples taken from the scene of crime, including buccal swabs of the two main suspects, Jowie and journalist Jacque Maribe, as well as former suspects Brian Kassaine and Jennings Orlando Odhiambo.

The report concluded that the DNA profile generated from a pillow and a rear seat matched the DNA profile generated from the buccal swab of Jowie.

However, two other DNA profiles of unidentified persons were also generated from other items, one being that of a woman and another of a man.

Monica Kimani was murdered on September 20, 2018, and her body was discovered at her house in Kilimani area, Nairobi.
