On November 21, 2019, Precious Mensah, a plus-sized Ghanaian woman, was denied boarding on a Dubai-bound Emirates Airlines flight due to her size.
Mensah, who won the 'Di Asa' reality TV show in Ghana, was set to make the trip alongside two runner-ups as part of the prize package.
According to reports, Mensah was stopped from boarding the plane because she reportedly could not fit on a single seat in the Emirates Airlines' plane.
As part of the prize package, Mensah received a cash prize of GHC2,500 and $500 from the ministers of Gender, Children and Social Protection and Tourism, Arts and Culture for shopping when she travels to Dubai.
Her trip to Dubai was part of the prize package for winners of the competition held on September 28, 2019.
