Jose Mourinho has made a swift start to his tenure as Tottenham manager, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract just hours after Mauricio Pochettino's departure.

Speaking to Spurs TV, Mourinho expressed his enthusiasm for working with young players, stating, "There is not one manager in the world that doesn't like to play young players and to help young players to develop - not one. The problem is that sometimes you get into clubs where the work that is below you is not good enough to produce these players."

"So I look to our history and you see that the academy is always giving talents the first team need. Of course, I always look forward to working with that profile." - Jose Mourinho

Mourinho's comments appear to be a veiled criticism of his former clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea, which he claims didn't allow him to blood youth players during his time in charge.

Despite his troubled tenure at Old Trafford, Mourinho remains one of the most sought-after managers in the game, with a proven track record of delivering trophies, including three Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.

His appointment at Tottenham has been met with excitement, with chairman Daniel Levy hoping that Mourinho's experience will help revitalize the club's youthful squad.

Mourinho has wasted no time in assembling his backroom staff, with Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos joining from Lille as assistant manager and goalkeeping coach, respectively.
