The Ministry of Defence has issued a statement denying responsibility in a fatal shooting incident involving a motorcyclist on November 20, 2019. According to the statement, the motorcyclist was shot dead after forcefully trying to enter the Kenya Navy's Lt. Colonel Kimaro Estate at around 6:00 am.

As per the Ministry's account, the motorcyclist was flagged down by sentries but proceeded towards the main gate at high speed despite a warning shot being fired. The soldiers on guard duties were forced to intervene, but it was not their intention to kill the motorcyclist.

However, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after one of the soldiers fired two direct shots in an attempt to immobilise him. The incident has sparked public reaction, with many questioning the motive and identity of the motorcyclist.

Relevant agencies have begun an inquest to establish the deceased's motives for forcefully entering the estate. The Ministry of Defence's statement was signed by P.M. Njuguna Colonel Public Affairs.
