Kenyan music producer Magix Enga has been involved in a heated copyright dispute with Tanzanian artist Harmonize. The controversy began when Enga accused Harmonize of stealing his beat for the song 'Uno', which he used on his own track 'Dundaing'.
Enga took to social media to express his frustration, warning Harmonize to pull down the song and threatening to take action if he didn't comply. However, Harmonize chose to remain silent, leaving Enga to take matters into his own hands.
On November 20, 2019, Enga shared a post on social media, stating, '1 Week Imeisha and The song Uno is no longer on YouTube Don’t sample magix Enga Beats. I repeat, dont! Like I said i’m not going to allow this to happen not in 254??'
Enga's post came after Harmonize's song 'Uno' was finally pulled down from YouTube due to copyright issues. The song was released as Harmonize's first project after leaving WCB, and its deletion has sparked a lot of interest in the music industry.
Enga's determination to protect his work has sent a strong message to other artists, emphasizing the importance of respecting intellectual property rights.
