Busia Senator Amos Wako has been traveling to the US despite being banned in 2009, he claims.

Speaking to journalists on November 20, 2019, Wako asked the US to explain why he was banned again in 2019, citing that the reasons given in 2009 were the same as those given in 2019.

"The reasons given in 2009 and the reasons given this year are the same. It is those who gave them who can say why they did so now," Wako said.

Wako also claimed that he had been traveling to the US since 2009 in his capacity as a UN diplomat.

"Since 2009, I have been traveling to the US in my capacity as a UN diplomat," he said.

Wako has denied corruption allegations and asked the US to explain why he was banned again in 2019.

He also asked the US not to involve his family in the matter, citing that they were not involved in his work as a lawyer.

"My family has not been involved in my work as a lawyer. My son is a full-grown man and a lawyer. If I had committed corruption, that would be my burden and my wife's, not theirs," Wako said.
