On November 20, 2019, gospel artiste Size 8 and her husband welcomed their second child, but the joy was short-lived as the baby was taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) immediately after birth.

Size 8, who already has a four-year-old daughter named Ladasha Wambui, had suffered a miscarriage the previous year, making this birth a welcome relief.

However, the couple's happiness was tempered by the baby's health issues, which required emergency surgery.

Speaking about the ordeal, Size 8 revealed that her baby's heart rate had risen, prompting doctors to take her to the theater.

‘At around 3am the fetus rate went high again and there was an emergency to try and get the rate down.’

She added that her doctor, Dr. Thuo, and his wife were trying to buy more time because the last scan she had taken showed that she was 34 weeks pregnant.

‘Dr. Thuo and his wife were trying to buy more time because the last scan I had taken showed that I was 34 weeks pregnant. When they tested the heart rate of the baby it was above 180 and that is when they decided to deliver my baby via CS.’

The couple has yet to reveal the identity of their newborn, but they will do so in due time.

As Size 8 recovers, fans and well-wishers are sending their love and support to the new family.
