On election day in the Kibra by-elections, Didmus Barasa, the Kimilili MP, was brutally attacked by youths allegedly led by Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati.
Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon, just before the swearing-in of the Kibra MP-elect Imran Okoth, Arati was spotted begging Barasa for forgiveness, tendering a humble apology.
However, Barasa dismissed Arati's apology, calling it 'crocodile tears.' He insisted that Arati had knowingly manhandled him and that there should be no pretense.
Barasa made it clear that he's yet to decide whether to accept Arati's apology, stating that Arati's thuggery behavior should not go unpunished.
He added that Arati had humiliated him before the entire nation and that if he were to forgive him, the apology should be done publicly, just as the embarrassment had come.
Barasa called on Arati and people of similar behavior to exercise maturity in politics and shun foolish and backward mannerisms.
