On November 20, 2019, China Aerospace Construction Group (CACG) was awarded a contract to construct the 40 km, 400kV Isinya-Konza power transmission line.

The project, funded by China Exim Bank, is expected to be completed within 30 months and will see the construction of four 250km high voltage power transmission and distribution lines, as well as the expansion of eight power transformation stations.

The new transmission and distribution line will power Konza and surrounding counties, including Machakos, Kajiado, and Makueni, providing a secure and stable power guarantee for businesses.

According to Charles Keter, CS Energy, the project will help Konza actualize its silicon valley dream, spurring innovation and supporting the development of the manufacturing industry, a key pillar in President Kenyatta's Big Four Agenda.
