On November 20, 2019, a witness in the Monica Kimani murder trial testified that the deceased introduced Joseph Kuria Irungu, alias Jowie, as a 'security officer in the Office of the President' and 'security officer for Interpol'.
Lee Owen Omondi Madala claimed to have met Jowie alongside Ms Kimani and another man, referred to as 'Mr Walid,' on the night of the murder. Omondi stated that he had gone to collect his 'logbook' from Monica's place at Lamuria Apartments.
According to Omondi, upon arrival, Ms Kimani joyfully welcomed him and ushered him into the sitting room where he found Jowie and Walid. Omondi described Jowie as wearing a red cap, a white kanzu, and a grey coat.
Omondi also testified that Jowie suggested he wished to spend the night at Monica's place during their conversation.
The hearing of the case continues, with Jowie and TV journalist Jacque Maribe being the main suspects in the murder.
